Hailey- 22 Months

Wow, just two months short of 2 years old.  I can't believe how fast time has gone and how grown up our little girl is.  Every single day Hailey does or says something new.  Here is what Hailey has been up to these days.

Big-girl Bed...yippee.  Hailey has been sleeping in her big-girl bed for over a month now.  She loves it and refuses to get in her crib or pack-n-play.  Knock on wood....she is not yet tried to get out and stays put until mommy or daddy comes to get her!  Go Hailey.

It's potty time!  Hailey is officially out of diapers and into pull-ups only.  She says diapers are for babies!  Hailey pees in the potty 3-4 times per day and usually has just 1 accident a day.  And let me tell you...there is nothing better than not having to change poopy diapers anymore!

Hailey loves to sing.  Her first tune was Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.  She now has a list of songs she sings.  Here are a few of her favorites:  Elmo's World Theme Song, I am a Choo Choo Train, Wheels on the Bus, Good-bye or Good Night Babies.

Talking...talking...and more talking.  It blows my mind how many words Hailey knows or says.  These days she is no long talking with single words.  She is using short sentences or phrases.  Here are some of her most common.
     *Here you go Momma
*Where Daddy is...or momma, or Brooke, or Nana, or Papa
*Thank you, your welcome.  All in one sentence.
*Momma sit here or Daddy's seat.
     *A tea party
     *Momma read big book.
     *Oh yeah or oh yes.
*No, not.  This is how she responds for anything dealing with the answer no.

Hailey loves to play outside.  We recently bought her a new bike...which is all she wants to do now.  We are looking forward to the rain going away and getting outside to ride our bike, go to the park, and swim.

Hailey helping daddy put her bike together.

So, what to do with all these toys we have laying around??  Hailey's favorite activities no longer involve toys.  She loves anything art....drawing/coloring, play-doh, and painting.  She loves to read books.  Her favorite thing...which we do at least 3 hours a day is have a tea party.  Yes, we sit at the little table, pour tea, and pretend to eat plastic bananas.  You know you want to play.

Hailey is in LOVE with horses...or should I say "neighs."  We take a special route home to drive by the horses.  We have checked books out from the library on horses, and we basically only read books that have horses in them.  Funny things is that she's not a huge fan of real horses....they are kind of big.

It amazes me everyday what Hailey learns or picks up.  If we are anywhere close to the mall she starts asking for the choo choo train.  When we are driving down Brooks Ave and drive past The Book Exchange she asks for more books, and my all time favorite is when we pull into the Costco parking lot she holds out her hand and asks for a smile (they draw a smiley face on her hand when you leave).

This month Hailey and I both picked up Hand, Foot, and Mouth.  It wasn't bad and Hailey had a very minor case...only one tough day.  I did have her weighed at the doctor's office.  She is a whopping 28 pounds.  That means she's gained about 3 pounds in the last few months.  It must be all the ice-cream!

I'm pretty sure there's much more I'm forgetting, but that is all I can think of right now.  I can only imagine what new things we will learn in the coming months.
