Missoula Fair

Today was a great weather day (low 70's), so we decided to take Hailey to the Fair.  We were a little unsure about how she would do around the animals because she can be fairly timid around them, but she did great.  She walked up to all of them wanting to pet them and even asking to ride them.  We also figured she wouldn't go on the rides by herself with out one of us.....we were wrong.  She went on four rides all by herself...such a BIG girl.

Funny stories about the petting zoo.  First and foremost, Hailey got pooped on and I saw it coming, but it was too late.  She was chasing around a goat, by the butt, and I saw his tail raise up.  By the time we tried to grab her, the goats deed was done.  She had a minor freak out about there being poop on her leg, but she soon began petting the other animals.  Throughout the night she would remind us of the poop on her pants and get a bit upset.  Second, she was attacked by a turkey.  Notice the danglies on her Capris...well, the turkey wanted to eat them thinking it was food.  He was chasing her around snapping at her pants.  Of course, Hailey started to squeal and shriek and kept her distance from the turkey.

Hailey rode on four rides and after the final ride she was asking for more.  We couldn't believe how expensive rides were and we weren't going to buy a 2 year old a $20 ride bracelet.

Watching the horse races!  Anything with horses wins Hailey over.

We had a great time.  We were there for three hours and spent $30.  Not looking forward to the day when she's begging for all the goodies that come along with the fair:  cotton candy, drinks, funnel cakes, etc.  Thank goodness it's only once a year!
