A New Play Set for the Girls

Our neighbors were kind enough to give us their play set their girls had outgrown.  After much debate as to whether it would even go in our backyard, we decided we would take on the project.  It need a little....or should I say A LOT of work.  We took it apart, sanded, and re-stained the entire thing.  All in all I'm guessing we put in about 25 hours of work into this thing.....but it's up.

Here it is...up!  I still have to sew a canopy for the fort.  Kevin and I put this thing up in the rain Memorial Day Weekend.  Seeing that our backyard is far from level, the front posts are down about a foot and half into the ground.  There will also be a rock wall on the front side of the fort, but we have to cut a good 12+ inches off of it so that it fits.

 Hailey giving Sydney a push.

Hailey was so excited to finally have the play set up.  She watched us work on it in the garage for several weekends.  She had a hard time understanding why it took us so long.  But it is finally hers!  She loves talking about the park in "her" backyard.

Probably one of her favorite parts of the set.  She can pump her legs and arms to get this swing going....all by herself.

 Sydney being a monkey.

Ready to use the slide....her favorite part.

Sydney does all the ladders by herself.  Waiting for the day she falls off.

Heading back up the hill....done for the day.

So glad you guys have a play set now! We'll have to come up and play and hopefully the girls don't roll down the hill. :)
