Trick-or-Treat

Halloween this year was so much fun.  Hailey of course knew what to expect of Halloween and couldn't wait to dress up and collect candy.  Sydney had no idea what was going on, but within minutes she figured it out and thought it was pretty sweet.  Really....I just knock on the door and get candy!!!!
 Our family on Halloween.

As always, Halloween doesn't come without it's scares.  Both girls are very skidish when it comes to scary things: costumes, bugs, and anything that looks like a mascot.  From the moment the spiders went up on the front portch and the webs and skeletons were hung, Sydney has not been a fan.  She had a hard time walking past the front door.  She would say, "I don't like those ladybugs."  Halloween to her means lots of scary things.  She said, "I don't like that," more this month than I can possibly count.

We started Halloween night at Kevin's work.  They always host a party and have the kids trick-or-treat throughout the office.  Honestly it's kind of a nice start to the evening.  Small, warm, and no traffic.  Hailey has several friends she hangs out with on a regular basis whose Daddy's work with Kevin, so it's also very fun to see them and see the kids together.

Getting ready to get some candy at Daddy's work.

Next, we made our way to Barb and Mike's house where we met up with the Finks.  This has become an annual event and we sure enjoy it every year.  This year we had dinner with them before venturing out for a little trick-or-treating on their street.

  Me and my girls!

The gang at Barb and Mike's.  Cousins and even a second cousin.

A pirate and her favorite parrot.

Last but not least, we finished the evening trick-or treating on our street.  I enjoy this the most.  I love that we know ALL of our neighbors and being able to stop by each of their houses is fun for Hailey and Sydney.  Nana Nancy and Papa Peewee were also at our house when we came back, so the girls got to ring the doorbell to our house.

Both girls had an amazing evening and were so well behaved.  Hailey was happy finishing the night on our street and coming home to hand out candy.  Sydney started to tire out toward the end of the evening and was asking to go home.  It's just so much work!  Once we were home, dumping the candy and checking it all out is so much fun!

Checking out some of their candy.

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween!
