Sydney.....9 Months Old

 Sydney Alex Papp
9 Months Old
16 lbs. 4 oz  in the 9th percentile
26 3/4 inches in the 23rd percentile

Sydney is full on crawling.  She no longer drags herself around, she is up on her hands and knees and moving fast.  She is also pulling herself up to objects around the house and also in her crib....which is making bed time a little harder.  She is mastering the stairs and loves to look through the banister.  At the beginning of this month, she learned to get into a sitting position from her tummy.

On the move!

Getting better at walking around the house with her car.

During her 9th month she has learned several new tricks.  She loves to wave and will do so when you say hi or bye.  If someone waves to her, she will usually wave back.  She also loves to play "SO BIG."  When you say, "How big is baby Sydney," she throws her arms up above her head.  She is getting better at clapping and does so when you say the word clap or if Hailey is clapping.
Waving hello!

Sydney has also really started talking.  She can say ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba.  When saying ma-ma, she knows she is calling or talking about Mommy.  She has also learned to sign the word more and is even saying it when in her highchair.  She claps her hands and so mo, mo, mo.

At nine months, breastfeeding is pretty much non-existent.  Milk supply is pretty low and she is only nursing once a day in the morning.  She has the hang of the bottle and is getting better at holding it herself.  She does say ba-ba-ba when she sees us getting her bottle out.  She is eating baby food twice per day and finger food at all meals.  We have started feeding her a lot of table food and she is really enjoying that.

Sydney enjoying the pool.

Sleeping goes in waves.  Right now she is sleeping through the night.  She usually goes down between 8:30-9:00 and gets up around 7:30-8:00.  She mostly sleeps on her tummy or crammed into the corner of her crib.  She moves around more than any baby I have ever seen.  Two naps a day are the norm for her.  Not so consistent because we are usually out and about, so she gets most in her car seat....poor baby.

At Sydney's 9 month check-up the doc found that she had a double ear infection. We knew she had a slight fever and was pulling at her ears, but we were attributing that to her teeth.  So, she is on meds now and hoping that heals quickly...along with getting those front two teeth in.

Hailey and Sydney are the best of buds.  Hailey has been so good with her...sharing toys, getting her things, and wanting to feed her.  She has been very gentle and patient with her...always looking out for her and checking on her.  I couldn't have asked for a better relationship between them....and looking forward to seeing their friendship grow.

 My sweet girls!  XOXOXO
