Apple Pressing.....Making some Cider

We had the opportunity to go with the Play Network and make cider at Fort Missoula last week.  Back in the day they used an apple press to get the juice from an apple.  During the fall, the fort has tours and allows the kiddos to bring apples and press them into cider.  It was a pretty cold, rainy morning, but we had a great time.

 Washing apples before we begin.

Hailey hanging out with her buddies...getting ready to make cider.

Listening to the tour guide discuss the history of apple cider.

Working the apple press.  You drop the apple in the grinder, turn the crank, and watch the juice come out the bottom.  Hailey loved doing it all.

Watching the apple get ground up.

Getting her first cup of cider....she had 4 in all.  She was a big fan.

Sydney even enjoyed a few drinks.
