For that past year or so Hailey has been doing chores and earring money.....Money SHE gets to spend. There are have been several occasions in which she has found something and wanted to buy it, but when it came right down to it, she couldn't spend her money. In fact, Hailey and I even went on a 3 hour (you read it right, 3 hour) shopping trip in which we looked at toys and things she could spend her money on. But she couldn't do it. She kept saying she would get something when she was 6.
One day she finally did it. We were at Target and she found something she wanted to buy....LEGO's. She took a while deciding which box to purchase. At first she asked for the expensive big box and learned she didn't have enough money. Then, after finding the $10 boxes she decided on the Soccer one.
Hailey's first purchase.
Look at all those little pieces. Hailey did so good with them and put it together all by herself. She was very patient and followed the directions perfectly! Way to go Hailey.
As we were driving the cart to the check out, she started crying. She didn't think she could spend her money. She wanted the toy badly, but when it came right down to it, she really didn't want to spend HER money. We talked and discussed making purchases and having to work hard for money so you can buy more. She decided to go through with the purchase, but wanted to come straight home and do a chore so she could start earning more money. It was so cute!
Playing with her new set.
Here it is...all finished!
